This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Milen Keremedchiev, cited by money.bg.
He has repealed through an order the receiving of tax for issuing visas to Russian youths up to 18 years of age, who come in the country on organized school camps with educational purpose.
Except for children, visas will also be free for accompanying teachers, as for every 15 children there must be one accompanying teacher, Keremedchiev specified.
According to him, Russian children, who visit Bulgaria in one year are about 30-40 thousand.
The removing of the tax is in conformance with the conditions of the contract between the European Union and Russia for the issuing of visas, he underlined.
Our country will lose about 1 million Euro for this year after the visas for Russian youths become free, Keremedchiev pointed out. According to him, however, Bulgarian tourism and the economy as a whole will profit much more.
In most cases organized children excursions in Bulgaria include visits to museums, theaters and other culture sights, which will stimulate our tourist business, the Deputy-Minister explained.
