Best coach of the year for 2006 in Bulgaria is Martin Stoev, Levski Sikonko's coach.

Second places went to Stanimir Stoilov, coach of Levski football team. the third place is again occupied by a Representative from the blue team - Simeon Shterev, a real expert in freestyle wrestling.

The winner had 202 point, Stanimir Stoilov 95, and Simeon Shterev 81 points.

The award ceremony took place yeterday at the military club in Sofia. The Trud Dailiy organized a poll in which everyone was supposed to pick up their favourite for the title.

Ivet Lalova hosted the show and the awards were given by the Mayor of Sofia, Boyko Borisov.

The winners were given various prizes and money from the organizers. 10,000 leva for Martin Stoev, 5,000 for second and 2,500 for third place respectively.

All taxes will be covered by the sponsors Nove Holding.

The coach of the national football team Stanimir Stoev was not present at the ceremony but it was later announced he had decided to donate his award to the "Bulgarian Christmas" fund-raising campaign under the patronage of the Bulgarian President Geaorgy Parvanov. 

Mayor of Sofia, Boyko Borisov said the fact that Stanimir Stoilov not present doesn't do him any good and that Nasko Sirakov should rethink his position. "No need to boycott these events," he said.

Ivet lalova, the Bulgarian track-and-filed athlete who hosted the show, announced that all Bulgarian sportspersons declare their support for the Bulgarian medics in Libya and asked all that were present at the ceremony to sign a petition titled, "Free the Bulgarian Medics, there are innocent."
